Wilson Eugene

Wilson Eugene Regnier, 68, of Lake Charles died March 13, 2013 at a local hospital.  Wilson was born on October 24, 1954 in Brownsville, TX. to Elie Leon (Capt. B) and Norma Theresa Regnier.  Wilson was a longtime resident of the Lake Charles area where he worked as a Paramedic for Acadian Ambulance service for many years.

Wilson grew up in Patterson, Bayou Teche was his backyard hunting and fishing.  He spent summers working with his Dad, a commercial shrimper and fisher. He tried diving and fell in love with it. He utilized his love of photography to start his company, Wilson's Diving Service, eventually giving his daughter Angela her first job as dive tender.  He got his captain's license early in his adult life,  ran a variety of Norman McCall's crew boats sometimes in conditions where others wouldn't. He wouldn't ever leave a man behind. He was with the Cameron Volunteer Fire Department for 30+ years, eventually becoming assistant fire chief, then fire chief for a year. He also taught CPR and First Aid certification classes for the Red Cross and Girl Scouts, he loved teaching. His many ventures led him to EMS, being a paramedic was his passion.  In his spare time, he continued to fish and hunt. He took care to make his own lures and weights and would spend what time he could on his fishing boat.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carol Regnier of Lake Charles, his daughters, Angela Regnier of Houma and Theresa Jost of Pasadena, TX., Son, Travis Windham and wife Angela of LaPorte, TX. and 5 grandchildren, Steven, Sarah, David, Bryce and Bailey.

Visitation for Wilson will be Thursday, March 16, 2023 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at Johnson Funeral Home Moss Bluff, 2171 North Hwy 171, Lake Charles, LA. 70611.  Visitation will resume Friday, March 17, 2023 from 12:00PM until 2:00PM.  Funeral services will begin at 2:00PM at the funeral home with burial to follow at Graceland Cemetery in Lake Charles.
