Wilson M. Gotreaux

January 29, 1927 — April 5, 2012

Wilson Martin Gotreaux, 85, of Lake Charles passed away at 9:40 PM, Thursday, April 5, 2012 in a local care facility.


Mr. Gotreaux was a native of Iota and lived in Lake Charles for over sixty years, moving to the Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home three years ago. He was a U. S. Army Veteran and retired from the City of Lake Charles. Mr. Gotreaux was a member of W. B. Williamson American Legion Post #1, a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Cajun French Music Association, and Our Lady Queen of Heaven Knights of Columbus Council #4562.


He is survived by his Companion and Caregiver Anna Rozas and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Gotreaux was preceded in death by his siblings Clyde and Henry Peter Gotreaux, Verdice Winn, and Lula Stoute.


His funeral will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, April 10, 2012 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend T. L. Herlong will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM and continue Tuesday from 9:00 AM until time of service.
