Wilton Royer, 84, of Carlyss, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2022, in Arkansas.

Wilton was born August 15, 1938 in Eunice, LA. He resided in Carlyss over 46 years before his health required a move to Arkansas to be with his daughter and her family. Wilton worked as a millwright and operator for Olin Chemical/Arch, retiring after 45 years of service.  He loved dancing, listening to French Music, horse racing, and picking peaches at the local orchard in Arkansas.  He will be remembered for his soft heart and willingness to always help a friend in need.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Louella Fitte Royer; daughter Tanya Royer Gleason; and son, Anthony “Tony” Royer; parents, Elcie and Armand Royer; and his sisters Nettie Ann Leger, Verna Mae Perry and Enella Doucet. 

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter Vickie Tarver and husband Bret; granddaughter Courtney Tarver Dethamphaivan and her husband Eric; great granddaughter Iris Dethamphaivan; granddaughter Kristen Gleason Phillips; and great grandson Tristan Phillips (the apple of his eye).

Funeral services honoring Wilton’s life will be held 10AM, Monday, August 22, 2022, at Johnson and Robison Funeral of Sulphur. Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines Cemetery of Carlyss. Pastor Marcus Wade will officiate.  Visitation will be 4 – 8pm, Sunday, August 21, 2022, and resume at 9AM Monday until time of service.
