Winbourn “Win” Sonnier, 69, of LeBleu Settlement, died Friday January 5, 2018 at a Lake Charles Hospital following a brief illness.
Win was born in Kinder, but moved to Topsy where he was raised. He was a lifelong resident of the Lake Charles area. Win began his career with Pioneer Storage, now known as Alfred Palmer Construction Company. He fixed anything that needed to be fixed, operated and repaired equipment, and maintained the grounds.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe Cephas and Dorothy Louise Reeves Sonnier; brother, C.A. Sonnier; beloved wife Linda Marie Bowman Sonnier and infant daughter, Daphne Sonnier. He leaves to honor and cherish his memory two children, Charles “Charlie” Sonnier and wife Tobi, Iota; Stacie Sonnier Navarre and husband Scott, Hayes; four grandchildren, Samantha Joe Navarre, Colt Sonnier, Charli Grace Sonnier and Cutter Sonnier; sisters, Patty Sonnier and Pam Cormier and husband Rodney, both of Topsy; brothers, Louis Sonnier, Topsy and Gary Sonnier and wife Melissa, Lake Charles and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many great friends that he considered his family.
Visitation will be on Monday January 8, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Home from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Tuesday January 9, 2018 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Verlin Sonnier officiating. Burial will follow alongside his beloved wife and infant daughter at Pine Hill Cemetery near Iowa, LA.
