Windol Frank Hohensee, 85, of Westlake, LA died on Sunday, August 22, 2010 in a local care facility.
Mr. Hohensee was born August 5, 1925 in Lake Charles, LA and attended DeRidder High School. He served in the South Pacific in the U.S. Marine Corp during World War II. Mr. Hohensee has lived in the Westlake area for the past forty years. He worked for Olin Chemical for thirty-three years, until this retirement in 1980. He attended St. John Basco Catholic Church. He was a member of the Calcasieu Kennel Club serving as their second President and was an honorary member of the VFW Post in Ragley. He loved hunting, fishing, and football.
Mr. Hohensee is survived by his loving wife of sixty-two years, Ethel Knapp Hohensee of Westlake; sister, Bernice Leissner of Highlands, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Catherine Hohensee; brothers, Albert Wayne Hohensee, Bobby Gene Hohensee, and Warner Hohensee; and sister, Yva Lee Addison.
His funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Fred Reed will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
