Winston Frank Janese

Winston Frank Janese, 71, of Lake Charles died at 10:46 PM on Friday, April 12, 2013 in his residence.

Mr. Janese was born on October 12, 1941 in Lake Charles where he lived all of his life. He was a graduate of Marion High School before serving his country in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Janese continued his education at McNeese State University graduating with a business degree. He and his wife owned and operated the Iowa Shell gas station for 34 years before retiring.

He was an avid golfer winning several awards and playing in 30 consecutive City Championship Tournaments. Mr. Janese was also a member of the Mallard Cove Golf Association. He enjoyed cooking. In his earlier years he and his sister, Shirley sang together on the radio. He enjoyed dancing as well as singing.

Mr. Janese always had a smile on his face and never met a stranger. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Amy Richard Janese of Lake Charles; three daughters and their spouses, Crissy Janese and Nick Smith of Lake Charles, Shelly Janese Bryan and Mike of Luling, LA, and Kellie Janese Duhon and Shawn of Lake Charles; two grandchildren, Adeline Grace and Kipton Michael Duhon; five siblings and their spouses, John Adam Janese, Jr. and Perky of Lake Charles, Bette Janese Green of Lake Charles, Shirley Janese Koval and Kenneth of Bossier City, Deborah Janese Foy and Michael of Lake Charles, and J.R. Janese and Evaline of Flower Mound, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Aline and John Janese, Sr. and a sister, Edith Janese Cormier.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, April 15, 2013 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon George Carr will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Sunday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Monday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
