Worth Scott Moffett III, peacefully entered into eternal life on June 7, 2017, in the comfort of his home surrounded by loved ones.
He was born to Worth Scott Moffett Jr. and Ruth Ferrell Moffett. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 17, serving in the Korean War. After serving his country, he graduated from McNeese State College. Worth had many successful business ventures including mortgage, insurance, and real estate. He founded The Moffett Agency in 1967 where he was manager of many syndications. In 1985, he founded Moffett Realty, Inc., with his wife Judy. In 1991, their nephew, Scott Moffett became a partner with the company. In 2014, Moffett Realty joined Latter & Blum, Inc. Realtors.
Worth enjoyed gardening. His rose garden was filled with exquisite roses. His vegetable garden contained every vegetable imaginable which he proudly shared. For many years, Worth spent his vacations in Montana climbing mountains and later relaxing on Florida beaches with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his gentle soul, office humor, and beautiful blue eyes.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Judy P. Moffett and their daughter, Jordan Worth Moffett; son, Wes Moffett (Marilyn) and their children Alexandra (Matt) Johnstone and Cole Moffett; daughters, Diana (Frank) Walker and their children, Zack (Heidi), Gabby, Savanah, Quinn; Cami (Philip) Hoffpauir and their children, Annalyn, Hudson, Henry; stepson Chris (Torie) Craven and their children, Kyle, Cade, Abbie; Two great-grandsons, Holden Walker and James Johnstone; brother, John Moffett (Eleanor) and their children, John, Jr. (Melissa), Scott, David (Holly) and Chris (Maria ); nephew, Eric Worth Thompson; niece, Erin Thompson Smith ( John); father-in- law, Delbert Pearce and several great nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his pets - Lucy, Lilah, Maggie and Braxton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jeffrey Scott Moffett; sister, Mary Moffett Thompson and husband Ed; mother-in-law, Marie Pearce.
A private memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church at a later date.
Donations may be made in Worth’s memory to any local Animal Shelter, Hobo Hotel for cats and First United Methodist Church.
