Wren Brown

Wren Brown, 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, April 1, 2023. Wren was born in Abbeville, LA on February 6, 1939. She accepted Jesus as her Lord & Savior under the preaching of A.D. Becton at Westlake FBC. She taught Sunday School and VBS for many years. She held home Bible studies and led several people to the Lord.

She married the love of her life H.C. Brown on November 19, 1954. They were married for 51 years and were blessed with four children. They traveled near and far when he was active in the Oil and Gas (Pipeline) Industry.  She even worked by his side on a few jobs. 

Wren had many talents and they were all self taught. She enjoyed painting, sewing, smocking, gardening, arrowhead hunting and landscaping. She and her husband collected rocks from several different states and displayed them proudly in her yard. She was a member of the Southwest Daylily Association and her yard was chosen to be on the spring tour of 2004. The role she most enjoyed was cooking and taking care of family.

She is survived by her children, Alecia Moneen Fontenot (Timothy), Tammy Pinder, and Michelle Wren Craft (Kelly); grandchildren, Joshua, Caleb, Rebecca, Sarah, Christopher, Courtney, Colbey, Danielle, James, Rachel, Ashley, Collin, Erin, and Connor; 34 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild; and nephew, Jonathan LeMaire; extended family, Jeff and Donna Frazier and Robert Guy and Shellie Bridges; and beloved pet, Girly Girl.

She was preceded in death by her husband, H.C. Brown, Jr.; son, Hamilton Clay Brown; grandchildren, Jack Gunner and Kaeleigh; parents, Thomas Granberry and Idella Miller; and sister, Tommie Dell LeMaire.

Her funeral service will be held at Magnolia Baptist Church in Ragley, LA under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff, on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at 11 am. Rev. Kelly Craft and Rev. Mike Sanford will officiate. Burial will take place in Magnolia Cemetery in Ragley, LA following the service. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 from 5 pm until 9 pm and on Wednesday from 9 am until the start of the service.
