Wynodine Dean Stokeld

Wynodine "Dean" Demeritt Stokeld, 79, of Lake Charles died Sunday, September 26, 2010 in a local healthcare facility.


Mrs. Stokeld was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles. She worked nearly twenty five years as a Nurses Aide for St. Patrick's Hospital. During her younger years, she enjoyed fishing, camping and dancing with her husband. She also enjoyed sewing and crocheting for her family. Mrs. Stokeld will be most remembered for her love and devotion to her family. She was a member of Heritage Baptist Church.


She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Nolan Lee Stokeld and wife Barbara of Lake Charles; one daughter, Judy Ewing and husband Don of Moss Bluff; five grandchildren, Shane and Douglas Lee Ewing of Moss Bluff, Derek Ewing and wife Amber of Westlake, Sue Ellen Stokeld and fiance' Johnny Giaimis, III of Lake Charles and Chelsea Lee Stokeld of New York, NY; four great grandchildren, Darian, Jonathan, Sarah Ewing, all of Moss Bluff and Brennan Ewing of Westlake; a special niece, Gwen Stafford of Prairieville and her beloved grand dog, Roscoe Bob.


She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 59 years, E.G. "Bob" Stokeld; twin infant sons, Jim and Gene Stokeld; her parents, two brothers and three sisters.


Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM Thursday, September 30, 2010 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Jack Clift will officiate. Interment will follow in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation Wednesday will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
