Xavier N. Perez, 78, of Lake Charles passed away, Saturday, April 21, 2012 in his residence.
He was a native of Vera Cruz, Mexico and a lifetime resident of the Sulphur/Lake Charles area. Mr. Perez was a graduate of Sulphur High School and a member of the International Teamsters Union, and also served as an Electrical Inspector for the city of Lake Charles. He was a Veteran of the U. S. Army serving during the Korean War and was a member of The Cathedral of Immaculate Conception. Mr. Perez was an accomplished guitarist, but the greatest joy of his life was his family especially being with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Leola "Butch" Ogea Perez of Lake Charles; daughters, Linda Perez Clark and husband Kelwin of Baton Rouge, LA and Jacqueline Perez St. Romain and her husband John of Lake Charles; three grandchildren Cadie and Blake St. Romain, and Matthew Clark; one brother, Mayo Perez and wife Geneva of Maplewood, LA and numerous nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at The Cathedral of Immaculate Conception. Monsignor Jace Eskind will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:30 PM and continue from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM, Tuesday, in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception in Lake Charles.
