Yvonne Lancto

Yvonne Lancto, 79, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024 in a local hospital.

She was born on August 29, 1944 to Wilfred and Germaine Gouin in Somerville, Massachusetts and was a resident at the Grand Lake Elderly Housing for the past several years where she formed many meaningful friendships. Yvonne enjoyed making puzzles, showing off her artwork, playing bingo, cooking, and playing games. Her greatest joy in life came when she was able to cater to the needs of the elderly and disabled. She will be remembered for sharing her faith and the ability to make people laugh. She was referred to as the light that shines in the darkness.

Yvonne is survived by her children, Terry LeBert (Jim) and Keith Lancto (Stacie); eight grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; brother, Roland Gouin; and son-in-law, James Beard.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alan Lancto; daughter, Barbara Beard; her parents; and brother, Raymond J. Gouin.

A private family memorial service will be held at Consolata Cemetery.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Amber, Britt, Caitlyn, Aleigha, Taisha, and all of the nurses and staff at Calcasieu Community Care Center for their compassion and care.
