Our beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend Zachary "Zac" Yoder has died. Zac was born on July 25, 1989, and passed away this past Thursday, April 19.
Zac is from a large, loving family in Lake Charles. He was a gregarious, fun-loving child, who grew into a wonderful young man. He attended St. Louis High School, and graduated from Barbe High School in 2008. He enjoyed all sports, and excelled in most he tried, particularly skiing, water sports, and mountain biking. Zac also loved hunting and camping. But we will remember him best for what he loved most: time with family and friends. Most recently, Zac worked in his family's business here in Lake Charles. He was developing into a fine mechanic and draftsman, and was training as an expert hydraulic technician. It was work he liked.
All who knew Zac, and there are many, will always remember his rare gifts. He had an inspiring smile and a contagious laugh, both able to lift a room. His rough and tumble nature was second to none, and for that, too, he will be sorely missed. Zac was a delightful boy and man, the apple of our eyes, and at the center of our world. Words simply cannot express the love we shared during his short time with us. We will look forward to joining him.
Zac's family includes the Yoder's and the Calhoun's of Lake Charles, notably his father and mother, Phil and Karen, and sister, Holly. He is survived by his parents, sister, and loving and devoted girlfriend, Jordan Fincher, of Moss Bluff, and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and grand parents, as well as innumerable friends and companions. All will miss him, but will never forget.
Zac's Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 20, 2012 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Monsignor James Gaddy and Reverend Keith Pellerin will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 12:30 PM, today, in the funeral home.
