Zachary Mark Gaspard

Zachary Gaspard, 21, of Lake Charles, passed away suddenly on Thursday April 16, 2015 at his residence. Zachary was a native and lifelong resident of Lake Charles. He was a graduate of Barbe High School and attended SOWELA Technical School. His passion for entertaining others through his creative music and songwriting was always evident in the expressive RAP music he created. Zach had a heart larger than life and it always showed through by his free spirit, acceptance of others, and the love he shared for his family and friends. Behind his large smile and carefree personality he had so many more hobbies that preceded his love of music. As a child you would often find Zach quietly wrapped up in a good book exploring the world one page at a time. He loved traveling with his Aunt Deb and Uncle Steve, whether he was zooming past everyone on the ski slopes or hanging out on the beach- he loved his family and found comfort in being with them. His memory will live on by his family and friends through his stories and music.his lyrics will never end. He is survived by his parents, Mark and Lori Bruchhaus Gaspard; brother, Grant Gaspard; paternal grandparents, Nadel "Ace" and Beverly Romero Gaspard; paternal uncles Steve Adams of Tiki Island, TX, Greg Gaspard and wife Donna, Doug Gaspard, Todd Gaspard and Flo, all of Lake Charles and Brent Gaspard and wife Kelly, of Ohio. Maternal aunts and uncles include Kirby Bruchhaus and wife Jennifer, of Lake Charles, Bryan Bruchhaus and wife Terese, of Jennings, Bronwen Bruchhaus Darbonne and husband Mike, of Jennings, Peter Bruchhaus and wife Lola, of Elton, Philip Bruchhaus and wife Sonyia, of Elton, Errol "Boo" Bruchhaus and wife Rosie, of Kinder, and Crickey Bruchhaus Swisher and husband Tony of Waskom, TX, as well as numerous cousins. Preceding Zachary in death are his maternal grandparents, Billy and Susie Bruchhaus, his Aunt Deb Gaspard, and cousins, Chris and Quentin Bruchhaus. Visitation will be today, Saturday April 18, 2015, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Father Wayne LeBleu officiating. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date. "Freedom is being who you are unapologetically"- Zach lived a life being who he was and never apologized for being true to himself. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Zachary's memory to the charity of their choice.
