Genita Cotten

Genita Cotten, 77 of Sulphur, LA was called home on Sunday, June 27, 2021.

She was born in Jena, LA on August 22, 1943 to Shell G. and Mary Gladys Flowers.

She graduated from Jena High School, Class of 1962. It was while she traveled with her husband for work that it brought her to Sulphur, and it became her home.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and spoiling her nieces and nephews with whatever treat they requested. Her hobbies included: cooking, eating out and socializing with her lunch groups, shopping, and caring for her friends.

She was welcomed into Heaven by her parents and a brother in-law Larry G. Cotten.

Those left to cherish her memory a son, Michael Randy Cotten; two sisters, Glenda Kay Cotton, Sandra Flowers Moffett and husband Jesse D.; two nieces, Tamara Covington and husband Kenny, Kirstie Cotten; two nephews, Jesse B. Moffett and wife Leigh Ann, Bradley S. Moffett; and her extended family.

Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home with memorial services to be held on Friday, July 2, 2021 at the The Grove at Heritage Square beginning at 2pm.

The family would like to give special thanks to Phillip Arceneaux for the companionship and care given to her; also to Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, Heart of Hospice and Avail Hospital for the compassion and level of care they provided.
