Michael Sackett

Michael Sackett, 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, June 12, 2021. 

He was born on August 7, 1946 in Denver, Colorado to J. Lee and Dympna Sackett.  

Mr. Sackett served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy before enjoying a career with Siliker Laboratories until his retirement in 2008. He will be remembered as a fun-loving man who never met a stranger. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed watching the San Francisco Giants and gaming. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Judy Sackett; daughters, Vicky James, Rebecca Moss, and Michelle Sackett; grandchildren, Ashley James (Chris Vital), Cyrena Scott, Jordan Poindexter (fiancé, Charles Hayes), Hunter Moss, Blake Moss, Damion Gomez, and Miracle Gomez; great-grandchildren, Dallas James and Christopher James; siblings, Maura Weddle (Richard), Theresa Hinton, Carey Hartman (David), and Peter Sackett; numerous nieces and nephews; many who were like his own children; and beloved pets, Gunner and Copper. 

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Erin Sackett; grandson, Michael James; and parents.  

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at Water’s Edge Church on Monday, June 21, 2021 at 3 p.m. Pastor Tony Bourque will officiate. Visitation will be held at the church from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. A rosary will be recited at the church at 1 p.m. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home. 

In lieu of flowers, donations to the family may be made to help defer expenses.
